regeneration

Community enterprises play a major role in the regeneration of Gloucestershire.   Community enterprises create  sustainable vehicles for developing a number of regeneration initiatives.

Gloucestershire Neighbourhood Projects Network unites nine independent initiatives to provide neighbourhood learning, health promotion, projects for children and young people and community engagement in some of Gloucestershire's most deprived communities.

In Gloucestershire Market Towns Forum towns come together to find opportunities to support community projects, share good practice, source advice and expertise and have a louder voice

The Barton Tredworth & Eastgate Community Trust in Gloucester offers a range of facilities for the community including childcare and community catering as well as housing for local community groups and the local radio station.

Case study: Gloucestershire Gateway An alternative-style motorway service station for Gloucestershire which aims to promote the area's food, tourism and heritage while regenerating local communities

Case study: Coney Hill Community Centre A new community centre will offer new services including a café and healthy living centre and will become more of a focal point for the community

Case study: Wyedean Local Power The area's first community-owned wind turbine could generate enough green electricity for 500 homes in Lydney and enough income to subsidise local community projects and other renewable energy schemes
